Asian Watercolour Confederation Exhibitions

The Asian Watercolours Confederation’s members are from Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

The Singapore Watercolour Society joined the Asian Watercolours Confederation in 1994. In October 1997, SWS hosted the 12th Annual Exhibition of the Asian Watercolour Confederation – the Asian Watercolours ’97. This event attracted a total of 174 paintings by artists from over 13 Asian countries. President Ong Teng Cheong opened this grand occasion.

In this event, members from the Asian Watercolours Confederation had the opportunity to share their work and passion individually. Besides displaying their work at the exhibition, an outdoor painting session was organized. It was held at Fort Canning. For the crowd, it was amazing to watch so many Asian artists in action.

INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS

The Singapore Watercolour Society has a good international reputation. It has been invited by numerous societies and clubs to participate in their exhibition. This includes exhibitions in Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Some members of the Society were also involved with the Asia-Pacific Watercolour Painting Exhibition in Taipei; Society of Amateur Artist’s Open Postal Competition in Britain; the Flemish Watercolour Days, a biennial event held in Brussels; China National Exhibition of Selected Watercolour and many more.

Following are a few international exhibitions that SWS members had participated.

1994 Some Singapore Watercolour Society’s members at the 9th Asian Watercolours ’94, held in Malaysia.	1995 At the 10th Asian Watercolours ’95 held in Bangkok.

1996 At the 11th Asian Watercolours ’96 held in Hong Kong.	1996 SWS artists Mr. Loy Chye Chuan and Mr. Khor Ean Ghee with Malaysian artists at 11th Asian Watercolours ’96 held in Hong Kong.
