Annual
Exhibition
This annual
event highlights the Singapore Watercolour Societys continual
commitment in promoting the art of watercolour painting in Singapore.
Through this event, Singaporeans are able to witness the works of
some outstanding local artists and the developments of the Singaporean
art scene. As one of the most active art groups in Singapore, this
annual exhibition always draws a big crowd.
This event attracts
many art lovers and collectors. It is an opportunity for the art
lovers to meet with the artist in-person and further understand
their passion and work. For the artists, they receive feedback on
their work. This kind of interaction between the art lovers and
the artists is rare in most exhibitions. For the Society, this kind
of interaction is encouraged.
The Society
held its first exhibition in 1970. It was at the Victoria Memorial
Hall. At that time, only 16 members works were exhibited.
Today, each annual exhibition displays over 100 paintings of high
workmanship, quality and imagination.
