Hailing from a family of accomplished painters, Berenika Drazewska started painting early in life. Besides her career in the academia, Berenika is currently studying for her BA (Hons) degree in Painting at the Open College of the Arts (UK).

Since moving to Singapore seven years ago, Berenika has focused her artistic practice on capturing in paint its wonderful natural light, which is why she frequently paints outdoors. She has benefitted from the direction of the contemporary Singaporean master Ong Kim Seng for several years now.

Very sensitive to the ephemeral beauty of light and shadow, Berenika makes them her primary subject across the whole spectrum of her work which spans landscapes, streetscapes and still life. She is endlessly attracted to watercolour’s transparent washes, subtle movement and the medium’s irresistible unpredictability.
