Exhibition Introduction

The 57th annual exhibition of SWS will take place this year from 4 – 10 September at the multi-purpose hall (level 7) of the Singapore Chinese Cultural Center.

The exhibition will feature around 250 artworks by members of the Singapore Watercolour Society. In addition, 54 winning works from the National Junior Watercolour competition will be on display. We are also honoured to present works by invited overseas artists at our exhibition.

Some of the artworks from the exhibition will be showcased in this website during and after the exhibition. Do enjoy them online, and visit us in person to experience the full collection.

SWS 18th National Junior Watercolour Competition 2026

This competition is organised in conjunction with our annual SWS exhibition, aimed at promoting watercolour art among our young. There are 2 major categories for participants:

For Children aged 5 to 12:

Participants in this age group will create their artwork at home and submit it at SWS’s Telok Kurau Studio on 4 July 2026 (Saturday), from 10am to 2pm. The theme for this year’s competiton is “Singapore in Colours: A City of Hope and Harmony”.

To participate, please click on the application form to download it and attach it to the back of your artwork.

For participants aged 13 to 18:

Participants in this age group will paint on location at Clarke Quay on 18 July 2026 (Saturday), from 9am to 12 noon. On the day of the event, participants are to report at Clarke Quay Central (facing Singapore River) for registration, which starts at 8am and ends at 9am. Each participant will be provided with an Imperial quarter sheet (38cm by 28cm) of watercolour paper for the competition. If you prefer to use your own drawing paper, it must be presented to an SWS official for inspection and stamp.

To prepare participants for the competition, artists from the Singapore Watercolour Society will do a live painting demonstration at Clark Quay on 12 July 2026 (Sunday) from 9am to 12pm.
